Edwards Air Force Base is the center of the aerospace testing universe. Furthermore, as the headquarters of the Air Force Test Center, the activity performs developmental tests and evaluations of air, space, and cyber systems. Moreover, Edwards has a rich history of achievements in aviation, such as being the place Capt. Chuck Yeager and the Bell X-1 first broke the sound barrier on October 14th, 1947.

The 412 Force Support Squadron, also known as the 412 FSS, provides a variety of services supporting Airmen and their families, in addition to retirees and DoD civilians, such as in-processing, professional military education, ID cards, dining facilities, and lodging. But that’s not all! FSS also houses all of the MWR elements on base, otherwise known as your quality of life programs. Our mission as the 412 FSS is to develop, support and sustain a ready and resilient Team Edwards.

MWR Explained: The acronym MWR stands for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation. MWR offers a wide range of programs, including fitness, food service, leisure, entertainment, recreation, child and youth services and more to the Edwards community, which includes Active-Duty Airmen, Families, DoD Civilians, and Retirees. MWR helps to improve the quality of life here at Edwards Air Force Base.
